Your questions answered
Not fully, but plenty is included. Your fare covers the main dining room, the Windjammer buffet and casual eateries, tea, coffee and water, the shows, pools, waterslides and kids’ clubs. Drinks packages, speciality restaurants, Wi-Fi, the spa, shore excursions and gratuities cost extra. Gratuities are added each day unless you prepay them, which we can do when you book.
Yes. Each summer Royal Caribbean bases a ship in Southampton for no-fly cruises to the Norwegian fjords, Spain, Portugal and northern Europe, from short breaks to longer sailings. In summer 2027 that ship is Freedom of the Seas. See our Southampton guide.
It’s one of the best. Dining is relaxed rather than formal, there’s no pressure to dress up every evening, and there’s always something to do. A short break from Southampton is an easy way to try it.
Definitely. Most ships have an adults-only Solarium with its own pool, the Icon Class ships add the adults-only Hideaway, and there are speciality restaurants, bars and shows to fill your evenings. Sailing outside the school holidays makes it calmer still.
It’s brilliant for families. The Adventure Ocean kids’ clubs are included in your fare, teens have their own spaces, and the bigger ships have waterslides, surf simulators and climbing walls. Multi-generational groups love the choice.
They range from the smaller Radiance Class, with around 2,100 guests, to the Icon Class, the biggest cruise ships in the world, with more than 5,600 guests. Bigger ships have more to do; smaller ones feel more relaxed and reach more ports.
It depends on what you want from your holiday. Icon and Oasis Class ships are destinations in themselves, Quantum Class ships blend thrills with style, and Freedom and Voyager Class ships are great value, often from Southampton. We’ve sailed Legend, Wonder and Spectrum ourselves, so tell us what you’re after and we’ll match you to the right ship.
It depends on how much you drink and whether everyone in your cabin buys one. We’ve done the maths in our drinks package guide. Packages are usually cheaper bought before you sail than on board.
Advice from Royal Caribbean Gurus who’ve sailed Legend, Wonder and Spectrum, our price confidence promise (find the same cruise cheaper with another UK agent and we’ll match it), and one person looking after you from start to finish. We can also add flights and hotels as an ATOL-protected package.
