Your questions answered
It’s Norwegian’s relaxed approach to a cruise holiday. There are no fixed dining times or assigned tables, the dress code is resort casual every night, and you choose how to fill your day. If you like flexibility, it’s one of the easiest lines to love.
Not by default. Your fare covers your cabin, the main dining rooms, the buffet and casual eateries, the shows and most activities. Drinks, speciality restaurants, Wi-Fi and excursions are extra unless you add a package such as Free at Sea, and a daily service charge applies unless your package includes it.
Free at Sea is Norwegian’s add-on package of drinks, speciality dining, Wi-Fi and shore excursion credit. UK guests add it for a one-off price based on cruise length. It’s usually good value if you’ll drink several cocktails or glasses of wine a day and want speciality dining, but not always for light drinkers. We’ll price it both ways for you.
Yes. In summer 2027 Norwegian Prima sails between Southampton and Reykjavik, visiting Norway and Iceland, and Norwegian Star sails from Southampton too. Norwegian Getaway takes over the Southampton to Iceland route in 2028. Because some of these are one-way, we can add your flight home as part of a protected package.
The Haven is Norwegian’s keycard-only suite complex: a ship within a ship with butler and concierge service, its own restaurant, lounge and sundeck. It’s the closest thing to a luxury cruise while still having all the big-ship entertainment on hand.
Very. Kids’ and teens’ clubs are included, the bigger ships have waterslides, go-karts and laser tag, and Great Stirrup Cay now has a waterpark. Free at Sea can also include free third and fourth guests on selected sailings.
Yes. Many ships have the adults-only Vibe Beach Club, The Haven for a quieter premium stay, and evenings packed with shows, comedy, live music and speciality restaurants. Sailing outside the school holidays makes it calmer still.
Norwegian’s private island in the Bahamas has had a big makeover. Ships can now dock at a new pier instead of tendering, there’s the Great Life Lagoon pool with swim-up bars, an adults-only beach club, and the Great Tides Waterpark, which opened in September 2026 and is an extra-cost pass. See our private islands guide.
Honest advice on the right ship, cabin and package, our help pricing Free at Sea both ways, and one person looking after you from first question to the day you get home. We can add flights and hotels as an ATOL-protected package, and you’re financially protected through Merlin Travel Group.
