Virgin Voyages offers a variety of ways to enhance your experience at sea, from exceptional dining to unforgettable celebrations. Here is our Splash for Your Bash Review and thoughts.
For our recent cruise in early October 2024 onboard Scarlet Lady, sailing the Irresistible Med and Rome, we opted for the Splash for Your Bash package, deciding to use the cruise as a way to mark a successful year as travel agents and celebrate our Virgin Voyages First Mate Champion award. This package also provided an excuse for an early celebration of our anniversary, which is in November, but since Virgin doesn’t sail in the Mediterranean in November, we celebrated a bit earlier.
Here’s a detailed overview of what’s included in the Splash for Your Bash package, with our thoughts on the package, and whether we think it was actually good value for money.
What is the Splash for Your Bash Package?
Virgin Voyages’ Splash for Your Bash package is a celebration add-on priced at $250, so just over £200. The price is per cabin, much like the Splash of Romance package, which you can get our thoughts on that package here.
The package is advertised as a party package, and more for those looking to celebrate an occasion. You can choose any reason you like to add the Splash for your Bash package, Birthday, Annivasary, Gratuation, Promotion, or just because. You can book this per cabin, for just two together, or you can book as multiple cabins travelling together and make a real big splash.
Here’s what it includes:
• Pre-Cruise Dining Concierge will be the one who will take the details of your celebration and help you plan which eatery you would like to celebrate at.
• A Bottle of Moët delivered to your cabin on the second evening
• Boozy Brunch reservation at either Razzle Dazzle or The Wake, with a two-hour mimosa experience
• Main Celebration Meal at one of Virgin’s specialty eateries, with wine pairings, a sparkling wine bottle, and a ‘Treat Yourself’ menu option (the Tomahawk steak at The Wake)
• Personalised Light-Up Banner for your table, depending on availability and notice
• Polaroid Camera with Film to capture the memories with your group

Our Experience: Splash for Your Bash Highlights
1. Bottle of Moët Delivered to Our Cabin
The celebration started with a bottle of Moët and two glasses delivered to our cabin on the second night, perfect for sipping at our leisure. Valued at $105 if ordered via the Shake for Champagne feature, this treat goes a long way in covering the package’s value, and there’s no corkage if you choose to bring it to dinner or elsewhere to enjoy on the ship
2. Boozy Brunch at The Wake
For our brunch, we opted for The Wake, partly for the fantastic gluten-free options that suited Phil’s needs. A Virgin Voyages dining concierge reached out to help with bookings; however, as we added the package last minute (literally 48 hours before our cruise), we finalised our times directly on board with the onboard dining team as soon as we boarded the ship at Razzle Dazzle.
Sitting by the window with views over the ship’s aft, we enjoyed a leisurely brunch, each indulging in five mimosas, part of the two-hour bottomless mimosa experience (currently $25 per person). Brunch service was attentive, and though Virgin takes a steady approach with refills, we happily encouraged our server for refills to keep the mimosas flowing.
Your other choice for Brunch would be Razzle Dazzle, which is still a great choice, certainly more suitable for a party atmosphere, and we have had brunch here a number of times.
You can read more about all the dining, but specifically the brunch options, in our complete guide to Virgin Voyages Dining:-
3. Main Meal Celebration at The Wake
For our main meal, we again chose The Wake, allowing us to enjoy the Treat Yourself item we’d had our eyes on for a while now— the Tomahawk steak, typically a $75 surcharge. Alongside the steak, our meal included three wine pairings with each course and a bottle of sparkling wine, which our attentive waiter topped up throughout. Needless to say, we certainly left here satisfied with both the level of food and drink we were offered as part of our package.
Each Virgin Voyages eatery has a few premium items marked as ‘Treat Yourself’ options. These can elevate a dining experience with speciality dishes like a seafood tower at The Wake, Sea Food Boil in Razzle Dazzle or Wagyu in Gunbae. For us, the Tomahawk was a highlight, making the package feel even more special.
If you wanted to try and work out what may be included in the Splash for your Bash menu as the “Treat Your Self” Premium Items, you can pretty much check all the menus and see what’s down on each as “Treat Yourself”, its pretty much going to be those. We have all the Virgin Voyages Menus on our website for you to check.
4. Added Celebratory Touches
Along with the meals and Moët, Virgin Voyages adds personal touches to the Splash for Your Bash package:
• Light-Up Banner: We received a display sign, which can be customised for your occasion, we didnt bother as it was more a nice novelty for photos and spent the rest of the meal on the floor to save space for all the food and drink.
• Polaroid Camera with Film: With ten shots provided, our amazing waiter helped us capture memories, making the dinner even more enjoyable. The Polaroid is a fun keepsake, especially for larger groups. We’re not sure if Virgin would restock the film after the 10 were used up, but I’ll be honest: we only took 5 photos and, in the end, offered photos of nearby dining guests.

Splash for Your Bash Review and Final Thoughts: Is it worth it?
The Splash for Your Bash package provides a fantastic way to make a voyage memorable, though it isn’t essential for everyone. You could create a similar experience without the package and choosing what to add on yourself at each meal.
That said, the extra “sparkle” that the crew added to our meals because we were dining using the Splash for your Bash package was a big part of the occasion, and we may not have had that if we hadn’t booked it.
Would we recommend it? Absolutely, especially for anyone looking for a unique way to celebrate. It’s not a necessity, but it does make a Virgin Voyages cruise all the more festive. We certainly got value for money on what we spent on our package, and we would find it hard for others not to based on the amount of alcohol, food and fun that’s included.
