Virgin Voyages Deck Plan: The Ultimate Guide to Cabins, Layouts, and What to Expect Onboard

Virgin Voyages Deck Plan

If you’re planning a cruise with Virgin Voyages and wondering which cabin to book, what the ships look like deck-by-deck, or how to avoid the noisy spots, you’re in the right place.

This comprehensive guide to the Virgin Voyages deck plan is built on real-world experience — from our own sailings and feedback from hundreds of clients. Whether you’re booking your first Sea Terrace or trying to pick the quietest cabin location, this blog will walk you through everything you need to know.

Virgin Voyages Ship Overview

Virgin Voyages currently operates four “Lady Ships”:

  • Scarlet Lady
  • Valiant Lady
  • Resilient Lady
  • Brilliant Lady (launching September 2025)

Each of these ships shares an almost identical layout, meaning once you’ve sailed on one, you’ll feel instantly familiar with the others.

Key Facts About All Lady Ships:

  • Guest capacity: Approx. 2,770 Sailors
  • Crew: Around 1,160
  • Decks: 17 total (with most guest spaces between Decks 5–16)
  • Cabins: Just over 1,400 cabins per ship
  • Ship length: 278 metres / 912 feet

The layout encourages discovery, with thoughtfully designed public spaces and stylish venues spread between decks. The main differences across ships come down to artwork, entertainment, cabin categories, and minor design themes.

Quick Overview of Virgin Voyages Ships:

  • Decks: 17 (though not all are accessible to guests)
  • Cabins: Located on Decks 5, 8–14
  • Public Spaces: Most social and dining areas span Decks 5–8 and 15–16

Key Venues:

  • Deck 5: Redemption Spa, The Manor (lower level)
  • Deck 6: Crew areas (no major guest venues)
  • Deck 7: The Manor (main entrance), The Red Room (main entrance), The Roundabout (atrium), Casino, The Social Club, Shops, The Dock
  • Deck 8: Upper level of The Roundabout, upper Red Room, extra lounge areas
  • Deck 15: The Galley, Gunbae (Korean BBQ), The Gym
  • Deck 16: Sun Club, Swim Club

Cabin Tips:

  • Avoid Deck 8–9 Central Sea Terraces if you’re noise-sensitive — these sit above On The Rocks, a lively late-night venue.
    • We’ve personally noticed that sound can bleed through into these cabins, especially during live music performances. It doesn’t affect every guest, but light sleepers or those turning in early might find it disruptive.
  • Lock-It-In Sea Terraces and Insider cabins under The Manor or Red Room may experience occasional late-night sound.
    • These venues host shows and parties into the early hours, and while the ship’s soundproofing is generally very good, some guests have mentioned hearing music bass or ambient noise at night. It varies by person and sailing, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re noise-sensitive.

Scarlet Lady Deck Plan

Scarlet Lady is the original ship in the fleet and was refreshed during her 2024 dry dock. This included updates to some suites, dining concepts, and onboard venues — [click here to read our full Scarlet Lady dry dock update].

Valiant Lady Deck Plan

What’s Different:

  • Mirrors Scarlet Lady almost exactly in layout
  • Used more for longer itineraries around the Med and Caribbean
  • Slight variations in decor and lighting in social areas

If you’ve sailed Scarlet Lady, you’ll find Valiant Lady almost identical — the deck map layout is the same. Use the same advice when selecting your cabin.

Resilient Lady Deck Plan

Resilient Lady launched in 2023 and debuted in Greece and Australia. While the structure remains the same, her aesthetic reflects her routes with subtle Greek inspiration in the cabins.

What Stands Out:

  • Unique artwork
  • Hosts some of the most scenic itineraries (perfect for wake-view cabins)

No layout surprises here — your cabin selection tips remain the same.

Brilliant Lady Deck Plan

As the newest ship in the fleet, Brilliant Lady includes a few design tweaks:

Key Differences:

  • Slightly Smaller Sea Terraces on Deck 8 — smaller balconies, dual hammocks
    • These are standard-view cabins, not Limited View, but the balcony is shallower due to structural changes made for Panama Canal compatibility.
    • They still include two hammocks and plenty of daylight, but if you’re after a full-sized balcony, aim for Decks 9 and above.
  • Rojo by Razzle Dazzle replaces Razzle Dazzle as the evening concept
  • Some accessibility and late-night venues have been updated for better flow

If you’re keen on unique features or want to explore Latin-inspired dishes, this is the ship to watch.

The Best Decks for Cabins on Virgin Voyages

Based on our sailings and feedback from clients, here’s what we recommend:

📍 Decks 10–13:

  • These decks sit between entertainment venues below and pool areas above — giving you the quietest experience overall.
  • Midship locations reduce motion (great if you’re seasick-prone).

✅ Aft Cabins:

  • Perfect for foodies and loungers — right near The Dock and The Galley.
  • Amazing views of the ship’s wake, especially on sea days.

❌ Cabins to Think Twice About:

  • Decks 8 & 9 Central Sea Terraces (above On The Rocks)
    • From our own experience, the music from On The Rocks can sometimes carry into cabins directly above. If you’re an early sleeper or light sleeper, it’s worth choosing a different location.
  • Lock-It-In cabins under The Manor or The Red Room
    • Some guests have reported hearing music or ambient crowd noise, especially if the venue is hosting a big evening event.

Again, most travellers don’t experience major noise issues — but if sleep quality is key to your cruise, it’s worth being mindful of location.

Virgin Voyages Deck Plan FAQs

Are all Virgin Voyages deck plans the same?

Yes — with minor variations in decor, entertainment, and a few cabin categories (especially on Brilliant Lady).

Which cabins are best on Virgin Voyages?

Decks 10–13, midship or aft, offer a great mix of stability and quiet. Avoid cabins directly above/under loud venues.

Are there connecting cabins?

Not really. There are a handful of Sea Terrace Cabins that can connect to a Rockstar Suite, but the vast majority of cabins are not Interconnecting.
