If you’ve sailed Virgin Voyages, you’ll have seen the Future Voyages team on Deck 7 doing a roaring trade on the last couple of days. They’re selling the My Next Virgin Voyage offer, or MNVV, and for most people who know they’ll sail again it’s the best deal Virgin does.
We buy one on almost every sailing. Here’s how it works for UK sailors, in pounds where it matters.

What is the MNVV?
It’s a placeholder for a future voyage that you can only buy while you’re on board. You pay a $150 deposit (charged in your booking currency, so it moves a little with the exchange rate), and you don’t need to pick a sailing yet. When you do book, the deposit comes off the price and you get two perks: money off the fare and matching Sailor Loot to spend on board.
What’s it worth?
The longer the voyage you book, the more you get. For bookings made in pounds, Virgin uses fixed values for the fare discount:
| Voyage you book | Off your fare (UK bookings) | Sailor Loot on board |
|---|---|---|
| 4 to 5 nights | £120 | $150 |
| 6 to 8 nights | £160 | $200 |
| 9 nights or more | £200 | $250 |
Sailor Loot is always in dollars, because every Lady Ship runs in US dollars. Sailings of under four nights aren’t eligible.
Our tip: save your MNVV for a longer sailing. A 9-night Mediterranean or a transatlantic gets you the top tier, and it stacks with most of Virgin’s public offers. Not sure what Sailor Loot covers? See our Sailor Loot and Bar Tab guide.
Which cabins can you use it on?
Sea Terrace and above only: the standard Sea Terrace, Central Sea Terrace, XL Sea Terrace and every RockStar and Mega RockStar suite. You can’t use it on an Insider, a Sea View, a Limited View Sea Terrace, the (slightly) smaller balcony Sea Terraces, or any Lock It In rate below RockStar. That’s one reason we usually recommend a standard Sea Terrace: it works with your MNVV without paying extra for Central or XL. Our cabins to avoid guide explains why.
How to buy one
- Pop to Future Voyages on Deck 7, midship, or buy it in the Virgin app while you’re still sailing. Once you’re off the ship, the onboard offer has gone.
- Pay the $150 deposit by debit or credit card. You can’t pay with Sailor Loot or an existing Future Voyage Credit.
- You’ll get an email with a deposit reference. Keep it.
- You can buy up to four, but only one can go on each future booking.
Missed it? Virgin also runs a post-voyage offer: place a $150 deposit within 14 days of getting home and you get Sailor Loot on your next voyage, but no money off the fare.
Booking with your MNVV
You’ve got two years from the day you paid to book and sail. When you choose your voyage, the placeholder turns into a normal booking and the usual 20% deposit is due.
If you booked your current cruise with us, we’re linked to your MNVV automatically, so we can book the next one for you, check which offers it stacks with and look after the rest.
Booked direct with Virgin?
You can still have us look after it. An MNVV can be moved to a First Mate at any time while it’s still a placeholder, before it’s turned into a sailing. And if you’ve booked a cruise direct, you’ve got 30 days from booking to move it to a First Mate, so you can get our bonus Sailor Loot. Just get in touch before you choose your next voyage.
The rules that catch people out
- The 7-day window. You can get the $150 back in full within seven days. After that, cancelling gives you a Future Voyage Credit valid for a year, and you lose the discount and the Sailor Loot.
- Two years means sail, not just book. Your voyage has to start before the two-year mark, or the deposit and perks are forfeited.
- It’s not for selling or gifting. Since 6 August 2026, MNVVs can’t be passed on. The only name change allowed is once it’s booked onto a sailing on the Premium fare. Older MNVVs bought before that date keep their original terms.
- Date changes depend on your fare. Essential and Premium allow one date change; Base doesn’t.
- Not every deal stacks. It works with most offers, but not with deeply discounted rates such as Lock It In fares, casino offers or group rates.
- Sailor Loot doesn’t roll over. It’s for that voyage only, even if you’re doing a back-to-back.

FAQs
Is the Virgin Voyages MNVV worth it?
If there’s a good chance you’ll sail Virgin again within two years, yes. It’s $150 you’d spend anyway, and it gets you up to £200 off plus $250 to spend on board on a 9-night sailing.
Can I buy an MNVV after my cruise?
The full onboard offer, no. There’s a post-voyage version within 14 days of disembarking, but it only gives you Sailor Loot, not money off the fare.
Can I use an MNVV on an Insider cabin?
No. It’s Sea Terrace and above only, and Limited View and smaller-balcony Sea Terraces are excluded.
Can I move my MNVV to a travel agent?
Yes, as long as it’s still a placeholder and hasn’t been turned into a sailing yet. Get in touch and we’ll take it from there.
Can I give my MNVV to a friend?
Not if you bought it on or after 6 August 2026. MNVVs are for your own use and can’t be resold or transferred.
