Virgin includes a lot in your fare, but alcohol isn’t part of it. Alongside the bars and the Bar Tab, there are a few ticketed drinks experiences you book in the app once you’re on board. We’ve done the two big ones, and we’d book both again.

Grog Walk

If you want to make friends on board, this is the one. You’re put into a group with other Sailors and the Happenings Cast take you round the ship, bar to bar, with a drink at each stop. There are plenty of icebreakers and silly games along the way, so it’s a brilliant laugh, and by the end you’ll know half the ship.

It’s perfect if you’re new to Virgin, sailing solo, or just fancy meeting people. When we did it, it cost around $40.

Bottomless Brunch

Brunch food is included as usual. What you pay for is bottomless drinks during your meal, and it’s really good value. When we sailed Valiant Lady in August 2026, it was $35 for bottomless mimosas, sparkling wine, rosé, draft beer and a couple of brunch cocktails, or $75 to upgrade to bottomless Moët & Chandon.

Our tip: don’t be shy about asking for a top-up. The crew won’t usually refill your glass unprompted, so catch your waiter’s eye and ask politely. We’ve never had a problem when we’ve asked.

Lotería Gigante

A Mexican take on bingo with tequila and mezcal tasting as you play. It’s really popular, though we’ve never done it ourselves: tequila just doesn’t agree with one of us!

Other tastings and classes

Depending on the ship and sailing, you’ll also find wine and spirit tastings, cocktail classes and themed events, especially during festival sailings. Our Brilliant Lady trip review covers the Festival of Senses events we did.

How to book and pay

  • Book in the Virgin app once you’re on board. The Grog Walk can sell out, so book it on day one.
  • Charges go on your Sailor account, and you can use Sailor Loot towards them.
  • Prices are in US dollars, like everything on board.

Are they worth it?

Yes, both of them. The Grog Walk is the best way to meet people on board, and Bottomless Brunch is great value on a lazy sea day. Just remember to ask for those top-ups.
