Disney Magic Deck Plan: A Deck-by-Deck Guide to the Disney Magic

The Disney Magic is one of Disney Cruise Line’s original classic ships, and that’s exactly why guests love her: elegant Art Deco-inspired interiors, a wonderfully walkable size and all the Disney magic you’d expect, without ever feeling overwhelming.

This Disney Magic deck plan guide takes you deck by deck, from the restaurants and adults-only lounges to the kids’ clubs, pools and staterooms, so you can choose the right stateroom and find your way around from the moment you step on board.

Why the Disney Magic Deck Plan Matters

At 984 feet long, the Disney Magic is easy to get to know, but a little homework goes a long way. Knowing where the kids’ clubs, the theatre and the pools sit makes it much easier to pick a stateroom that suits your family: close to the lifts for little legs, mid-ship if you’re prone to seasickness, or tucked away for a quiet night’s sleep.

Disney Magic Deck 1: Tender Lobby and Health Centre

Deck 1 is mostly practical. You’ll find the Health Centre forward and the tender lobbies, where you’ll board the tender boats in ports where the ship anchors offshore. There’s also a small run of staterooms here, a handy budget-friendly choice if you’d rather spend more on experiences ashore.

Disney Magic Deck 2: Staterooms

Deck 2 is given over to staterooms, mostly inside and oceanview categories. Being low and close to the waterline, these are a great pick if you want a smooth ride in choppier seas, and they’re only a short hop up to the restaurants and lobby on Decks 3 and 4.

Disney Magic Deck 3: The Lobby, Dining and After Hours

Deck 3 is where your holiday begins. The Lobby Atrium, with its sweeping staircase, is home to Guest Services and the Port Adventures Desk, and it’s where many of the best character meets take place.

Two of your three rotational dining restaurants are here: Lumière’s brings a touch of Beauty and the Beast elegance to dinner, while Rapunzel’s Royal Table turns dinner into a Tangled celebration, complete with songs and the odd surprise guest.

Forward is After Hours, the adults-only area for the evening: Keys for cocktails and live piano music, O’Gills Pub for a pint and the match, and Fathoms, the nightclub with music, games and late-night fun. Soul Cat Lounge adds another spot for a pre-dinner drink.

Disney Magic Deck 4: The Walt Disney Theatre, Animator’s Palate and the Promenade

Deck 4 is your entertainment hub. The Walt Disney Theatre sits forward, home to the Broadway-style Disney shows, with Preludes Bar nearby for a drink and snacks before the curtain goes up.

Mid-ship you’ll find the shops, Mickey’s Mainsail and White Caps, the Disney Vacation Planning Desk and the D Lounge, the family lounge for games, quizzes and character fun. Aft is Animator’s Palate, the third rotational restaurant, where the room transforms around you as you dine.

Deck 4 also has the outdoor promenade, the place for a morning walk or jog and a lovely spot to watch the sea go by.

Disney Magic Deck 5: Kids’ Clubs and the Buena Vista Theatre

Deck 5 is where the kids will want to be. Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Disney’s Oceaneer Lab are both here, packed with games, characters and activities for ages 3 to 12, with the “it’s a small world” Nursery for the littlest guests.

The Buena Vista Theatre shows the latest Disney films, including new releases, and staterooms fill the rest of the deck forward and aft.

Disney Magic Deck 6: Staterooms

Deck 6 is a stateroom deck with a mix of verandah, oceanview and inside staterooms. It’s a great middle-of-the-ship choice: close to the dining on Decks 3 and 4 and just a few floors from the pools.

Disney Magic Deck 7: Staterooms

Deck 7 is another stateroom deck, including some of the Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms with Navigator’s Verandahs. Those verandahs are partly enclosed, so you trade a little of the view for a lot of privacy.

Disney Magic Deck 8: Staterooms and Family Staterooms

Deck 8 offers more verandah staterooms. It’s a popular choice for families, sitting just below the pool deck for quick dips and lazy afternoons.

Disney Magic Deck 9: Pools, Quick Bites and the Senses Spa

Deck 9 is the sunny heart of the ship. Goofy’s Family Pool and the Funnel Vision big screen sit mid-ship, while Nephews’ Splash Zone keeps the youngest swimmers happy.

Quick bites are all around: Pinocchio’s Pizzeria, Duck-In Diner, Daisy’s De-Lites, Eye Scream and Frozone Treats, with Cabanas, the casual buffet, aft.

Forward, grown-ups can escape to the adults-only Quiet Cove Pool with its whirlpools, Cove Café for coffee and Signals bar. The Senses Spa & Salon is here too, along with the fitness centre. Edge, the tweens’ club, is also on Deck 9.

Disney Magic Deck 10: Sports, Palo and Concierge

Deck 10 is home to the Wide World of Sports Deck forward, perfect for a game of basketball or football with a view. Here you’ll also find the AquaDunk, a drop-floor body slide that launches you out over the side of the ship, alongside the twisting Twist ‘n’ Spout, and the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

Concierge guests have their own Concierge Lounge here, and aft is Palo, the adults-only Italian restaurant with stunning views and one of the best brunches at sea. It’s well worth booking as soon as your booking window opens.

Disney Magic Deck 11: Vibe Teen Club

Deck 11 is small but mighty: it’s home to Vibe, the teens-only club for 14 to 17 year olds, with its own space to hang out, make friends and get away from the grown-ups.
