One of the first things people ask about Virgin: “Is there really no buffet?” There isn’t. Instead there’s The Galley, a food hall with separate counters, each cooking something different to order. It’s included in your fare, open from breakfast until late, and it’s where we end up for lunch most days.

How it works
- Walk up to any counter and order. Food’s made for you, so it’s hotter and fresher than a buffet.
- Grab a table, ideally one by the windows.
- The food’s included. Fresh juices, speciality coffees and alcohol are extra.
The counters
The line-up varies a little by ship and changes over time. On Resilient Lady in April 2026, the dinner menu had:
- The Daily Mix: soup of the day and big salads.
- Diner & Dash: all-day eggs and omelettes, plus hot sandwiches.
- Bento Baby: sushi rolls and bento boxes.
- Burger Bar: classic and Impossible burgers with fries.
- Desserts: a changing line-up of cakes and sweet treats.
On other sailings we’ve also had noodle and taco counters, and a whole counter of doughnuts and desserts.

What we always order
- Breakfast on port days, when we want something quick before heading ashore.
- Tacos whenever they’re on.
- Sushi or noodles for a light lunch.
- Desserts and doughnuts. Obviously.
